So Long, Summer...

Because of a week long literacy training starting first thing tomorrow morning, summer vacation as I know it is winding down. Our summer was filled with amazing adventures and sad farewells, but with both we all enjoyed our time and took advantage of how fortunate we are to have this break together.

To bid farewell to my summer vacation we took Cole out on our boat for the first time...he's been on Uncle Darryl's boat on Okauchee Lake, but never on Lake Michigan. Today was his maiden voyage and boy did he have fun.

He loved "zooming super fast", but was quick to say, "take it easy, Dad" when he got a little nervous. We cruised through the harbor, down to the river to make our way to Horny Goat for lunch...then a quick jaunt over to the Summerfest grounds to hear a little music and then back home.

All in all I think Cole LOVED his first boat ride on the big lake!

Did you notice Cole's shoes? He's been asking for two different colors...
Getting a little more brave!

the Lake Express came in just as we were heading out

We ride this bridge all the time, but rarely see it from this angle

Yes, Baby came along for the ride

Horny Goat Hideaway- this deck is amazing!

Mom's Mimosa

Cole inhaled his grilled cheese and fries...then they brought him free ice cream! Score!

Heading back...driving with Dad!
