An Afternoon Adventure

Jim and I are off all summer and most days we spend maxing and relaxing at home. Every once in a while though we get an itch to head out on an adventure. In summers past it was a lot easier to up and hit the road, with or without the dogs. Now that Cole's become our 3rd wheel it takes a little more planning.

We decided to take a drive out towards La Grange. We stopped at the La Grange General Store/Backyard Bike shop and cafe. If you've never been there it's worth the trip. It's a great bike store/rental spot with a yummy all fresh cafe attached. Jim looked at a few bikes and then we decided to have lunch. It is VERY close to the John Muir/Emma Carlin trail so we were all set and ready for a hike, but Cole had other thoughts.

He was absolutely exhausted and the heat and his teeth were getting to him. Unfortunately the trails aren't conducive to strollers and his Kelty doesn't have a sun, instead of hiking we decided to take a nice drive through the country. Cole fell asleep in the AC car and Jim and I caught up on some much needed adult time. Our afternoon adventures have definitely changed a bit with a toddler in tow, but I wouldn't change them for anything!
