I absolutely, positively, can NOT believe that Cole is over 11 months old. I can remember this time last summer when Jim and I were frantically getting the basement done and the nursery set up. It was hotter than hell and I was bigger than a house. It is so cliche, but the time really does go by so incredibly fast.
11 months has been a lot of fun, but boy o' boy are we exhausted. Cole DOES NOT stop moving...ever. From the moment he's up in the morning that little man is on the go! Although he's not walking, he's crawling very fast and walking along the edge of all objects. He's cruising up the entire flight of stairs without blinking an eye, especially if he sees one of us go up there to use the bathroom or get ready.
Cole continues to be very vocal and he's starting to really say Mama and Dada...there is a definite hi and doooga for doggy. He's been exploring new foods...some days he eats like a champ and other days he wants nothing to do with finger food. His latest loves are lightly toasted wheat bread with provolone cheese, pineapple, cantaloupe, watermelon, avocado (if you coat it in crushed Puffs, sometimes), and most orange colored baby foods. Mom is still the only person that can successfully give him a bottle every time, which makes us a little nervous since he's headed back to daycare in a week. We've started whole milk in a sippy cup during meal time so that hopefully he'll be willing to take that at daycare.
At this point, my sweet baby has A LOT of personality. He is an absolute flirt with anyone that will notice him and play peek-a-boo. He's doing this funny little side-to-side dance and loves to whip his head back and forth...while Mom or Dad says, "can you deal with this?" We've really enjoyed all of the laughing and giggling. Along with the smiles, we've definitely had our fair share of tears and screams as well. I'm not going to lie to anyone and pretend he's a perfect little boy all of the time. Teething has not been a lot of fun. It took Cole a while to get teeth, but in the last month he's gone from 2 teeth to 6....let's just say Tylenol is our friend. We're finally to the point where he's not taking it on a daily basis. Along with that, if Cole doesn't want to do something, the entire world hears about it. Whether we pull him off of the stairs, offer him food he's not interested in, or we need to change his diaper...if he's not interested, he's screaming.
I can not believe my sweet tiny baby is almost a toddler- he's almost 1! Where did the months go?!?!
Stay tuned for his one year pictures and pictures from his Very Hungry Caterpillar birthday party!!
