Making our Way to Madison

Grandma and Grandpa bought Emery a board book about Madison when he was 2 years old and Jim and I bought him Wisconsinopoly for Christmas this past year...he's been holding on to these two items and learning about Madison for the last few years. He was really excited to get to see the capital city and check off some of the places in his board book and visit some of the tourist spots featured on his game board.

Chris warned Emery that it would be a lot of walking, but he was ready and raring to go! Jim, Cole and I joined them for a road trip to Madison. We had nothing better to do, but to cruise the campus and stroll State Street. We were floored at how excited Emery was. He was such a trooper. Whenever he spotted a featured spot, he'd pop a squat with his Sharpie marker and check it off his list.

After walking through campus and visiting Camp Randall, we met Chris' friends Kate and Tim and their two adorable children Shane and Levi at the Terrace for lunch. It was nice to sit, relax, and catch up with them. By the time we were done eating it was time to head for home. We snagged a delicious Babcock Ice Cream cone and headed back to the car.

Cole's first lunch on the Terrace!

Through it all, Cole was AMAZING. He does so well on these little excursions. I have to admit that by the time he gets home he's ready to melt down, but while were out and about he's such a great traveler.
