Happy 4th of July!!

I'm not sure why I didn't put the 4th of July parade on our summer bucket list, but regardless Cole experienced his first parade today and only freaked out twice- once when they fired the WWII rifles and when the firetruck horn blasted right next to him. Other than that, he was a perfect little guy taking it all in.

Sneaky Little Grin...under his nuk, of course!

Cole couldn't possibly look...the parade was way too exciting!

Looking a little hot & exhausted, but thoroughly enjoying himself.
It was a perfect 4th of July here in Bayview...well except for the fact that as I'm typing I have a 10 month old little guy upstairs COMPLETELY fighting sleep even though he's ridiculously tired and should have been sleeping 40 minutes ago!!!

The day started with the parade...candy was thrown, the big bands played, batons were twirled, and the Double D dancers made their appearance (sort of a joke...although the Double D dancers to exist). We had great seats, except for the sun blasting on us the entire time, but we are NOT complaining about that. We just kept Cole distracted so he'd leave his hat on.

After the parade we walked over to Kathy and Donn's for an afternoon of BBQing and cards...two of my favorite things. Cole played in his pool with Dad until he was freezing cold and completely pruned up, which gave me plenty of time to play Tripoli and enjoy a frosty beverage, or two. I could have spent the rest of the night playing cards, but Cole let us know when it was time to go...he was such a trooper all day long, I can hardly complain. We'll have plenty more 4th of July BBQ's when he'll be able to stay a little later.

As much as we'd love to be watching the fireworks on this beautiful evening, it's just not going to happen this year...I'm okay with that. Cole can definitely NOT stay up that late. Even if we wanted him too, he'd be beastly. Trust me, he's thrashing himself all over that crib right now. He's dealing with a little cry it out this holiday :)

Two more busy days with Chris in town and then we can chill out again...Happy 4th of July y'all!
