Week 11...

Well, the weather is finally colder. Cole witnessed his first freezing cold temperatures today on his Week 11 birthday. For the first time since he was born it dropped below freezing during the day. That didn't stop us from getting out!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Cole wanted to mention how thankful he is for such a great mommy and daddy. He MADE me put this outfit on him this morning... :)

Week 11 brings about even more changes. Cole continues to grow and fill out. He has a lot more personality and spends a lot of time throughout the day smiling, laughing, and he's even starting to giggle. This boy takes after his mom in the chatting department. He'll talk to you about anything. It's been fun to have conversations with him. He's recognizing Mom and Dad's voices and he has a huge grin when you walk in the room. It's been so fun.

Along with the smiles, we've also had the tears. Cole can still be fussy at times, and Dad and I dread to 4-6pm timeframe when he's the most fussy. We've been working on drinking from bottles. It is definitely NOT one of his favorite things to do...funny because I was so convinced he'd prefer the bottle of breastfeeding and was so scared to push bottles. If I only knew. We've tried several different brands and so far he's been most successful with Playtex Drop-Ins. I'm hoping he continues to take those since I'm headed back to work next week and he'll need to be drinking from the bottles at least 3 times a day. Although he'll do it, he doesn't love taking one and will typically only drink about 2-2 1/2 ounces from a bottle. I know he's still hungry afterwards since he's always willing to jump back on the breast afterwards. He's usually eating about 4 oz. or more per feeding so we're pushing more milk/bottle feeding session.

Other big news this week--- Cole's been sleeping through the night...IN HIS CRIB! Hurray!!! Last Saturday, Jim and I thought it'd be a good idea to get him used to sleeping in his crib each night. Cole's been having a late feeding around 9:30pm, then we read a few books, swaddle up, and head to bed. He's been in bed by 10pm each night and he's been sleeping through the night with minimal trips in for nuk placement. He's been sleeping 6-7 hours/ night. I'd love to get him down earlier, but it's been nice that he's sleeping until 5:30 or 6am. Since I'm going back to work, I'd rather not have to get up in the middle of the night. In the next week or so, I'm going to push it back 30 minutes and try to get him down by 9:30pm just to see how he does. Either way, Jim and I are super proud of him.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we continue to work on the stretches and exercises for Cole's torticollus. The therapist was pleased with the progress he's made in just one short week. He doesn't love the exercises, but we just take it one stretch at a time. We've also been spending a lot more time on our tummy. Cole's been gaining a lot of strength and tummy time is no longer a struggle. He loves being propped up on the Boppy and we even let him watch a little TV during his TT.

The weeks are flying by and Cole just keeps growing. It's been so fun watching him...we love you kid!
